Rock & Roll vs. Classic Rock!

The difference between rock & roll and classic rock.

Rock & Roll is more than just one particular genre & instrument, it's a spirit, evolution & culture that represents the diversity, attitude, groundbreaking impact & artistic influence from bands, solo artists, producers, songwriters etc during it's whole history & it evolves all genres & styles of music.

And then there’s “classic rock,” a canon-maintenance project that’s more a repository of white-male hagiography than actual musical history. 

The difference between those two is one has inclusiveness & acceptance while the other clearly gains exclusiveness & inacceptance!

Anyone who actually has knowledge about what the term "rock & roll" is knows that it evolves all genres & it's never created by white dudes with long hair playing guitar solos.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2025: Biggest bang yet!  Earlier this year, the Cleveland based Rock & Roll Hall of Fame had announced it's class of 2024 into the hallowed institution. A mix list of artists stemming from R&B/Soul to Heavy Metal/Classic Rock to Contemporary Pop etc. It's also one of those classes where it becomes more populist & quantify which is something the Hall isn't there for when it comes to recognition. Then came the ceremony & aside from incredible inductions from few artists, the show was very dull!  For the purists/fanatics who are still complaining about "non rock" acts being inducted & demanding the name change of the museum, get used to the fact that the term "rock & roll" isn't about style & genre. Final review of who will be making into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2025.  In retrospect, the powers behind this whole institution (famous yet infamous) Rock & Roll Hall of Fame never disappoints how they choose certain artists for induction while being responsible for bringing evolution, attitude, diversity & spirit into the mix.  Because rock & roll isn't a color nor based on genre & sound, it's a union that is part of history. Although it doesn't cease to amaze me that so many rock individuals despise the Hall even though it's not their personal jukebox nor record collection. (I mean fanaticism & ignorance are at an all time high.)  Finally, the Hall isn't there to reward artists for being popular with fans & audiences, it's to recognize the sesmic impact being caused in music industry whereas the trajectory of rock & roll changes throughout. RRHOF biggest snubs!

30 Biggest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame snubs  Today's list would be the biggest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame snubs that needed to be corrected. For this, I'll be focusing on artists who are eligible, but not nominated or inducted although have been on the ballot before.  1. Joy Division/New Order: Considered as post punk/new wave leaders, Joy Division/New Order were a big influence to their contemporaries & later artists who were inductees themselves.  2. Diana Ross: DR would be the 4th woman to receive the 2nd induction since her solo work is just remarkable as her with the Supremes.  3. OutKast: The duo who pushed Southern rap into mainstream with their albums Stankonia & Speakerboxx/The Love Below making OutKast as one of the most important artists during the 00's.  4.
