RRHOF eliminations!

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame elimination: Which inductees would go or stay.

It's a hard process to do, yet it has to be done. We all have our favorites that should be in the RRHOF for being there for their fans & audiences throughout history, yet nobody deserves nor would get it due to various reasons.

Then there's others who already got inducted that literally don't belong. Sure their supporters will say they deserved it for being the biggest sellers or considered as fan favorites. Yeah although it takes more to earn induction than records & tickets being sold and scored fans.

Thus is how this process is made. I'll be judging inductees on influence, innovation, impact & originality. It would also be based on ratings & rankings I did before.

Note: Names in highlight mean elimination.

Let's start from the beginning.

1986

Chuck Berry

James Brown

Ray Charles

Sam Cooke

Fats Domino

Everly Brothers

Buddy Holly

Jerry Lee Lewis

Elvis Presley

Little Richard

Everybody in the first class stays. You have to be very dysfunctional Hall of Fame to remove any of the founders, pioneers & creators who made history. All would start the development of rock & roll as we know so to eliminate them is ridiculously insane.

1987

The Coasters

Eddie Cochran

Bo Diddley

Aretha Franklin

Marvin Gaye

Bill Haley

B.B. King

Clyde McPhatter

Ricky Nelson

Roy Orbison

Carl Perkins

Smokey Robinson

Big Joe Turner

Jackie Wilson

Muddy Waters

Much as 1987 was too enlarged, surprisingly every single one of them didn't get removed even though there's a few (especially Clyde McPhatter) that almost got revoked due to minimal impact on the course of rock & roll.

1988

The Beach Boys

The Beatles

Bob Dylan

The Drifters

The Supremes

Even five performer classes including this one nobody is getting eliminated. I mean why would you do that to honorary artists who completely changed the world with their influence, innovation & body of work especially the two from different places. A third induction year filled with game changers.

1989

Dion

Otis Redding

The Rolling Stones

The Temptations

Stevie Wonder

So far, the streak keeps on going on. Dion is still safe even though he's the lowest of this list.

1990

Hank Ballard

Bobby Darin

The Four Seasons

The Four Tops

The Kinks

The Platters

Simon & Garfunkel

The Who

This is where we get to the process. Bobby Darin had a great career yet his legacy is mostly forgotten outside of few hits.

1991

Lavern Baker

The Byrds

John Lee Hooker

The Impressions

Wilson Pickett

Jimmy Reed

Ike & Tina Turner

All aren't removed except Lavern Baker who only had one or two songs people know of while her impact is unremarkable.

1992

Bobby "Blue" Bland

Booker T. & The M.G's

Johnny Cash

The Isley Brothers

The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Sam & Dave

The Yardbirds

Bobby Bland even though he's a figure in blues has the least scores of a bunch. Influence is what keeps him from getting sacked.

1993

Ruth Brown

Cream

Creedence Clearwater Revival

The Doors

Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers

Etta James

Van Morrison

Sly & The Family Stone

Pretty much everyone isn't going anywhere although I couldn't say the same for Frankie Lymon. Few hits yet less influence.

1994

The Animals

The Band

Duane Eddy

Grateful Dead

Elton John

John Lennon

Bob Marley

Rod Stewart

Guitarist Duane Eddy is known for being an inspiration to countless guitarists everywhere, though he could've been easily inducted under Musical Influence given what I stated. With said, it kept him from being revoked.

1995

The Allman Brothers Band

Al Green

Janis Joplin

Led Zeppelin

Martha & The Vandellas

Neil Young

Frank Zappa

Another year without anyone getting eliminated. Martha & The Vandellas have the lowest points yet they're still ahead of almost everyone else.

1996

David Bowie

Gladys Knight & The Pips

Jefferson Airplane

Little Willie John

Pink Floyd

The Shirelles

The Velvet Underground

It's not shocking that none of them are inducted in their 1st year of eligibility nor nomination. That doesn't make them less though. In fact, we wouldn't remove any of them even Little Willie John who would've been in under a different category.

1997

The Bee Gees

Buffalo Springfield

Crosby, Stills & Nash

The Jackson 5

Joni Mitchell

Parliament - Funkadelic

The (Young) Rascals

After three years, we have another removal and this time is The (Young) Rascals. Although they had decent tracks, their career didn't made any sesmic effect on music.

1998

Eagles

Fleetwood Mac

The Mamas & The Papas

Lloyd Price

Santana

Gene Vincent

This is where it's gonna take a little turn. Now we have two eliminations. The Mamas & The Papas were a big deal to the 60's California music scene & still are, yet their overall resume is not substantial enough. Lloyd Price had a good career, however he's only known for two songs people cared about.

1999

Billy Joel

Curtis Mayfield

Paul McCartney

Del Shannon

Dusty Springfield

Bruce Springsteen

The Staple Singers

Del Shannon is one of the interesting cases, however he only had one remarkable song.

2000

Eric Clapton

Earth, Wind & Fire

Lovin Spoonful

The Moonglows

Bonnie Raitt

James Taylor

The Moonglows & Lovin Spoonful, fine acts with some memorable songs. Nothing groundbreaking & revolutionary.

2001

Aerosmith

Solomon Burke

The Flamingos

Michael Jackson

Queen

Paul Simon

Steely Dan

Ritchie Valens

In a grand scheme, The Flamingos were HOF material. Couldn't find anything worth noting other than having one of the well-known songs in history. Ritchie Valens was a pioneer in the 50's yet his work has less output due to his early demise unfortunately thus how he also got the boot.

2002

Isaac Hayes

Brenda Lee

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

Gene Pitney

Ramones

Talking Heads

Gene Pitney? Couldn't find anything remarkable about his career.

2003

AC/DC

The Clash

Elvis Costello & The Attractions

The Police

Righteous Brothers

Righteous Brothers certainly made tunes for everyone, whether they truly changed rock & roll is another story.

2004

Jackson Browne

The Dells

George Harrison

Prince

Bob Seger

Traffic

ZZ Top

I really couldn't make a case for The Dells, nothing against them though.

2005

Buddy Guy

The O'Jays

The Pretenders

Percy Sledge

U2

Unfortunately Percy Sledge doesn't fit the description of a true Hall of Famer all due to his lack of sesmic effect on rock & roll.

2006

Black Sabbath

Blondie

Miles Davis

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Sex Pistols

All five artists have tremendous credentials & are a big inspiration to fellow musicians out there.

2007

Grandmaster Flash & Furious Five

R.E.M

The Ronettes

Patti Smith

Van Halen

A smallest class with only 5 performers, yet all of them earned it due to solid resumes.

2008

The Dave Clark Five

Leonard Cohen

Madonna

John Mellencamp

The Ventures

Bands like DC5 & The Ventures were influential yet don't have enough substance in their music to keep them from being sacked.

2009

Jeff Beck

Little Anthony and The Imperials

Metallica

Run - DMC

Bobby Womack

Jeff Beck almost got the boot since his solo work isn't highly regarded among the greatest of all time yet his skills & showmanship as guitarist kept him safe.

2010

ABBA

Jimmy Cliff

Genesis

The Hollies

The Stooges

Cliff has a good career, just nothing effective.

I mean what did The Hollies do that's considered lasting remembrance.

2011

Alice Cooper

Neil Diamond

Dr. John

Darlene Love

Tom Waits

Dr. John is a miss, few known songs though not enough substance.

Darlene Love? I couldn't finger around her honor.

2012

Beastie Boys

Donovan

Guns N' Roses

Laura Nyro

Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Small Faces/Faces

Honestly, Laura Nyro should've been honored under Musical Excellence.

2013

Heart

Albert King

Randy Newman

Public Enemy

Rush

Donna Summer

No eliminations: Public Enemy takes over the year while Albert King & Donna Summer each got their long overdue posthumous accolades. Rush went in after almost 15 years of eligibility.

2014

Peter Gabriel

Hall & Oates

Kiss

Nirvana

Linda Ronstadt

Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam)

Cat/Yusuf is among the singer - songwriters who made timeless tunes that people remember, yet his overall impact remains 50/50.

2015

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band

Green Day

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

Lou Reed

Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble

Bill Withers

Joan Jett should've gotten in with The Runaways instead, not with The Blackhearts. The Paul Butterfield Blues Band made music for the early ages, however time will tell if they extend beyond it. It's not gonna change anytime soon.

2016

Cheap Trick

Chicago

Deep Purple

Steve Miller

N.W.A

Retrospect, Chicago has HOF material. Unfortunately their music is so unremarkable that mostly everybody hears them due to their lasting hits on a radio. Steve Miller is among the third tier rockers who didn't change the course plus didn't want to be inducted in a first place.

2017

Joan Baez

ELO

Journey

Pearl Jam

Tupac Shakur

Yes

An impact of ELO is a borderline one. Journey only scored fans & audiences throughout their entire history.

2018

Bon Jovi

The Cars

Dire Straits

The Moody Blues

Nina Simone

What do Bon Jovi, Dire Straits & The Moodies have in common: Sold million records & tickets yet lacked true quality & historic resonance.

2019

The Cure

Def Leppard

Janet Jackson

Stevie Nicks

Radiohead

Roxy Music

The Zombies

Def Leppard & The Zombies are close calls. Popular yet aren't considered as game changers. Stevie Nicks should've been inducted once since her solo career is very forgettable.

2020

Depeche Mode

The Doobie Brothers

Whitney Houston

Nine Inch Nails

The Notorious B.I.G

T. Rex

The Doobie Brothers proved that even classic rock inductions seem to be overboard.

2021

Foo Fighters

The Go - Go's

Jay - Z

Carole King

Todd Rundgren

Tina Turner

It's been a while since nobody got removed. Everyone's safe.

2022

Pat Benatar

Duran Duran

Eminem

Eurythmics

Dolly Parton

Lionel Richie

Carly Simon

Pat Benatar, Lionel Richie & Carly Simon while having songs people listen to didn't have any historic credentials that makes a Hall of Famer.

2023

Kate Bush

Sheryl Crow

Missy Elliott

George Michael

Willie Nelson

Rage Against the Machine

The Spinners

Sheryl Crow has connections yet none of her work seems earth shattering.

2024

Mary J. Blige

Cher

Dave Matthews Band

Foreigner

Peter Frampton

Kool & The Gang

Ozzy Osbourne

A Tribe Called Quest

Nothing against Cher, DMB, Peter Frampton & Foreigner, sure they have large sales & fanbases however they're not The Beatles in terms of seismic shift being caused in history.

2025

Bad Company

Chubby Checker

Joe Cocker

Cyndi Lauper

OutKast

Soundgarden

The White Stripes

Don't have a problem with Checker in, yet why now seems to be sentimentality rather than artistic merits. Joe Cocker & Bad Company were only relevant in their day, nothing more.

I'll only eliminate less than 50 members. Not too bad.

Thanks for your support.
