Kate Bush
8/10
Bush's music may not be as well known to the general public outside of Running up that Hill being heard on Stranger Things, but her influence is very large compared to other female contemporaries of the 80's. Artists from Johnny Rotten to Big Boi cited her as inspiration in their own work. Very well deserving induction indeed.
Sheryl Crow
6/10
Crow's ok, definitely had some moments during her run but she didn't influenced anyone noteworthy in particular nor did she broke new ground for others to follow suit. A worthy entry but not an remarkable one.
Missy Elliott
9/10
Elliott will be the first female rapper to ever be honored, besides that she also paved way for others with her production work & songwriting experience.
George Michael
6/10
GM pretty much defined the MTV generation of the 80's with his sound & charisma. With said, he only got one huge album & a few hits. His sales are definitely based on those traits alone & his influence isn't large enough mostly like the ones who were inducted before & will be.
9/10
He's certainly among those who made country into an legitimate art form by transcend into other genres & greater heights. Willie's more historically remarkable than most classic bands who were inducted & won't be.
7/10
One of the most defining bands in the 90's, Rage's sound mixes genres like punk, rap & metal while their lyrics were considered as revolutionary & conscious. With said, they initially didn't leave the biggest impact as others from the decade had done but they did start the whole "nu metal" genre.
8/10
Took them long enough to get inducted, The Spinners are one of the groups in the 60's & 70's to defined the sound of Philadelphia with their harmonies & stage presence. Artists including David Bowie, Elton John, & Elvis Costello cited them as inspiration.
Additional:
Chaka Khan
7/10
This one is a longtime coming since Khan's been nominated multiple times as solo artist & with Rufus. Now with her finally be inducted in this category on her own, she'll be among the other greats like Stevie Wonder & George Clinton in the museum but unfortunately it's gonna end her former band's chances for earn a spot in the Hall just like what happened to Nile Rodgers & Chic.
Overall not a bad class, the committee finally got some things corrected with few selections.
