RRHOF inductee ratings & observations #8

RRHOF inductee ratings & observations #8

I'm back & today we're going to look at the RRHOF Class of 2018 performers.

Number Ratings:
10/10 = Immortals, Icons & Legends
9/10 = All Time Greats
8/10 = No Brainers
7/10 = Proven Performers
6/10 = Best of the Rest
5/10 = Average/Borderline
4/10 = Marginal
3/10 = Mediocre
2/10 = Not even worth mentioning
1/10 = Not deserving without a ticket
0/10 = 💣

Performers:

Bon Jovi

4/10

Big band that had a lot of popularity but nowhere near as the best of the creme of the crop: U2, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Prince & others based of "overall influence", but they have sales so that's good obviously I guess.

The Cars

7/10

They're one of the most misunderstood but defining bands we have, The Cars combine new wave with classic rock hooks & electrifying sounds of keyboards. They paved way for bands like Weezer, The Killers & Nirvana with their innovative sound.

Dire Straits

6/10

Dire Straits only had one huge album & have other hits but their career has most well-known members with Mark Knopfler being one of the most influential guitarists of his time. They influenced  few acts like DMB & Sheryl Crow with their guitar based sound.

The Moody Blues

5/10

Good band however they're not in the league of others due to most people knowing them for that one remarkable album & few singles in terms of influence & innovation alone nevertheless they were considered as one of the pioneers of Prog Rock & have inspired past Hall of Famers like Deep Purple, Yes, Genesis & ELO.

Nina Simone

8/10

Considered as one of the most important artists of all time, Simone could sing anything as Mary J. Blige told Rolling Stone. She was trained classically & cited Bach as an influence, her songs reflect on social & racial issues that is still going on today unfortunately but her sound changed so much in society. Her sound had an impact on artists like Whitney Houston, David Bowie & Elton John. She left an incredible legacy in music.

Outside of Nina Simone, the class of 2018 was more non memorable than historic & that's only because the Hall went too far with so many classic rock veterans. That's exactly why they pretty much moved on from it.
