RRHOF inductee ratings & observations #4
I'm back with another RRHOF inductee ratings & I'm going to be focusing on the class of 2021. You definitely know the drill so let's get started.
Ratings:
10/10 = Immortals, Icons & Legends
9/10 = All Time Greats
8/10 = No Brainers
7/10 = Proven Performers
6/10 = Best of the Rest
5/10 = Borderline
4/10 = Marginal
3/10 = Mediocre
2/10 = Not even worth of debate
1/10 = Not even worth of mention
0/10 = 💣
Foo Fighters
8/10
The Foos are one of the few bands that kept rock & roll relevant & still to this day. Dave Grohl is probably one of the most recognizable figures in rock & roll performing with countless legends alike.
The Go - Go's
7/10
The GG's were the first female band that have written their own songs & play their own instruments, they inspired any female rockers to do the same. It wouldn't be the case if it weren't for them. That said, it's mostly based on their debut album but that doesn't make them unworthy of induction.
Jay - Z
10/10
A genius that has the most influence & importance since 2Pac & Biggie, he won a lot of accolades & achievements & influenced acts such as Kanye West, Drake, Kendrick Lamar etc. Also he's a most successful businessman in music.
Carole King
5/10
She's been regarded as one of the most important singer - songwriters of all time. Written many hits for other artists & she stands on her own as Tapestry became one of the most important albums of all time. The rest of her solo work is not outstanding & remarkable & she should only be inducted only as a songwriter not also as a performer.
Todd Rundgren
6/10
A talented songwriter & producer in his own right. His innovations & influence can not be ignored as those traits. He worked with countless artists while having such albums like Something/Anything? He should have receive induction for Musical Excellence since he's more well known behind the scenes than his own but oh well.
Tina Turner
10/10
She simply the best. She's a Queen of Rock & Roll as Aretha Franklin was a Queen of Soul. Her influence & impact is so hard to ignore & she's instantly stood out on her own & that's what became her a 2x inductee along with King & Grohl.
Additional:
Pioneers of electronic music, Kraftwerk changed music with their synthesizer sound influencing countless artists of multiple genres.
LL Cool J
9/10
First rapper to sign Def Jam records & only rapper to receive Kennedy Honor, LL Cool J paved the way for fellow icons to follow suit with his flow & lyrical work.
Probably one of the most recognizable classes in recent years even though two - four in this class are the most important in history.
