David Bowie

DB's one of the leading figures in music & ranked as one of the most influential artists of all generations, he's known for pioneering glam rock along with T. Rex & also inspired innovators of punk music, he went through multiple genres & has inspired countless artists while having sold a lot of records worldwide & has been praised by fellow artists & critics for his innovation work.
Gladys Knight & The Pips

They have hits & they're one of the well-known R&B/soul/funk family groups of the 20th century, influencing a few artists of R&B & soul & have been remain active on the charts for over three decades until they broke up in 1989 but have win other accolades & achievements as well. Knight is ranked as one of the greatest singers of all time.
Jefferson Airplane

This psych band from Cali remains among the leading bands & pioneers of psychedelic rock, they defined the San Francisco Sound & were the first to achieve international commercial success. They were one of the headliners at such iconic festivals as Monterey Pop Festival, Woodstock, Altamont Free Concert & the Isle of Wright festival. Their album Surrealistic Pillow ranks as one of the most significant records of Summer of Love. They would go on to inspire fellow bands with their heavier sound & improvisation.

He's one of the important figures of R&B in 1950s, his songs were covered by fellow artists & even though his life & career cut short he left a unique legacy in music.

What can I say about this iconic group: PF were one of the defining artists of all time becoming a leading figure of progressive rock. They begin as a psychedelic group gaining a following & were one of the first British psychedelia groups. They're known for extended compositions, sonic experimentation, philosophical lyrical content, musicianship & elaborate live shows. They sold a lot of records & have influenced countless artists of multiple rock genres while their albums have critical acclaim & groundbreaking success.

The vocal group were one of the defining acts in the 60s notable for their R&B, doo wop & soul music. They were one of the first groups to define a girl group sound & known for predating that of Motown acts have been noted as reflecting the early sucess of the Civil Rights Movement. Their sound paved the way for 70s singers like Carole King & Joni Mitchell.
The Velvet Underground

Even though less commercial success during their existence, countless fellow artists & critics cited VU as a pioneers & leading figures in the course of alternative music. Their constant innovations & expiremental tendencies is what gave birth to the genre & it's subs. Not only that, they created the culture & movements based on it's sound. They were certainly game changers in rock & roll & are among the most important bands since The Beatles. Proving they accomplished everything beyond sales & hits.
Definitely one of the most remarkable & recognizable classes in the history of the RRHOF.
