Ratings:

10/10 = Immortals, Icons & Legends
9/10 = All Time Greats
8/10 = No Brainers
7/10 = Proven Performers
6/10 = Best of the Rest
5/10 = Average/Borderline
4/10 = Marginal
3/10 = Mediocre
2/10 = Not even worth mentioning
1/10 = Not deserving without a ticket
0/10 = 💣

Performers:

Billy Joel

9/10

Billy Joel may be a hitmaker but he's among the most important singer - songwriters. He also helped the piano to become a big deal to rock & roll while his albums were a massive success.

Curtis Mayfield

9/10

Mayfield was among the most important figures in soul music, his unique guitar skills & smooth falsetto while blending social commentary into his work peaking with his Superfly album.

Paul McCartney

8/10

McCartney's solo career & discography is as remarkable like The Fabs but definitely not groundbreaking & revolutionary. That doesn't mean it's terrible, not just the same level but he's still among the most influential songwriters of all time.

Del Shannon

5/10

There's nothing really memorable about Del Shannon other than scoring one hit. Not even The Traveling Wilburys would help his case.

Dusty Springfield

8/10

Now Springfield may not be a household name, but her spans & transcends genres & time. She's a songwriter's singer & her voice & music would be praised by Amy Winehouse, Katy Perry, Adele & others.

Bruce Springsteen

10/10

A singer songwriter whose music has touched people's lives with lyrics about working class, Bruce Springsteen made albums that are considered as classics while he evolved throughout. He's among the most acclaimed musicians since Bob Dylan.

The Staple Singers

8/10

Known for transferring genre to genre, The Staple Singers were a defining gospel vocal group before they were considered as one of the most powerful soul acts. Their music was a vehicle for activism, change & live, the signature sound would be a soundtrack for other artists & their work.

Not a pretty bad class overall with two artists being double inductees.
