RRHOF inductee ratings & observations #2

RRHOF inductee ratings & observations #2

I'm back with the ratings of RRHOF inductees from early years to present day.

I explain how I rate as I'm basing on the importance in the history of rock & roll, as well giving observations. Today it's going to be 2019 class.

Ratings:
10/10 = Immortals, Icons & Legends
9/10 = All Time Greats
8/10 = No Brainers
7/10 = Proven Performers
6/10 = Best of the Rest
5/10 = Average/Borderline
4/10 = Marginal
3/10 = Mediocre
2/10 = Not even worth mentioning
1/10 = Doesn't belong without a ticket
0/10 = 💣

Performers:

The Cure

8/10

A band that have success before Alternative Rock went into mainstream, they're one of the first bands to inspired kids & younger adults to wear dark makeup & clothing becoming goths & emos in the Term of Gothic Rock. Their albums Disintegration & Wish have become classics due to how much well they sold. They influenced such bands like Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins & My Chemical Romance with their dark sound.

Def Leppard

6/10

They have two original albums that sold well in the U.S & other than that, their music seems like a hit or miss based on their contributions with Mutt Lange. They're one of the few bands of the NWOBHM along with RRHOF nominees Judas Priest, Motorhead & Iron Maiden (in which the three of them should have been inducted before DL had), they inspired bands/artists like The Darkness & Taylor Swift. Today they're still active & have been going strong since their formation.

Janet Jackson

9/10

Consider as one of the most successful artists of the 80's Janet Jackson became one of the Queens of R&B, she sold a lot of records worldwide & pretty much took the genre into Mainstream along with Whitney Houston & have influenced such artists like Beyonce, Janelle Monae & others.

Stevie Nicks

5/10

Her solo work is not as remarkable as her being a member of Fleetwood Mac. Other than that, she did influence countless female rockers to have solo careers & forming bands.

Radiohead

10/10

A few alternative bands of the 90's & 00's had success with their landmark albums & singles that hit the charts & have radioplay. Radiohead took the genre much further with their constant innovations, experimentations & electrifying live performances. They're one of the first artists to use the internet as a tool to promote music. Their albums OK Computer, Kid A & In Rainbows have proved to be great examples & it paid off big time. Those are considered as three of the greatest albums of all time & have influenced countless artists including Coldplay, Travis & Arcade Fire. They were the heirs to The Beatles & Pink Floyd with their sound & if you think they're a band that have this one hit song that they didn't like then you're completely selling them short.

Roxy Music

8/10

They don't have a lot of popularity in America but they have some excellent well - known tunes. They have such notable members like Brian Eno & Bryan Ferry & have influenced bands like Depeche Mode, U2 & Duran Duran with their sound. Eno became one of the most biggest collaborators & producers in rock & roll working with such acts like U2 & Coldplay. Bryan Ferry is one of the most persuasive songwriters in the Glam/Art genres alongside David Bowie, Lou Reed & Marc Bolan.

The Zombies

5/10

They're one of the most unimportant bands during the 60's, they have this one album & a few hit singles people pretty much know by & they're nowhere near the best of such bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Velvet Underground & The Kinks based on influence, innovation & popularity. But they do have memorable hits & influenced artists like Tom Petty.

When you have a class that has 5 british bands & two solo artists who are women with one of them being a double honoree, then it would definitely be historic as excited.
