8/10 = No Brainers
7/10 = Proven Performers
6/10 = Best of the Rest
5/10 = Average/Borderline
4/10 = Marginal
3/10 = Mediocre
2/10 = Not even worth mentioning
1/10 = Not deserving without a ticket
0/10 = 💣
Performers:
The Bee Gees
9/10
The vocal group Bee Gees definitely put Disco on the map making it truly an legitimate art form, however their impact extends further as they become one of the biggest acts in terms of popularity. Their songwriting & vocal quality paved the way for fellow successful artists including Elton John, Michael Jackson, Madonna & Beyonce.
Buffalo Springfield
6/10
Given their short run, Buffalo Springfield are one of the few bands whose music hasn't always stood the test of time, I mean most people remember them based on that one remarkable song. Nevertheless, they served as an influence on folk rock.
Crosby, Stills & Nash
7/10
If they would've been in with Neil Young, then I probably put them a little higher but alas. That doesn't mean CSN aren't important, their vocals & sound paved the way for 70's singer - songwriters while also being figures in other subjects.
The Jackson 5
9/10
The Jackson 5 served as a launching career for one of their own: Michael Jackson while also considered to be one of Motown's biggest crossover successful acts. Their iconic image would go on to influence countless boy bands including Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, New Editon among others.
Joni Mitchell
10/10
When it comes to singer - songwriters, Joni Mitchell is definitely one of the most important ones in music, her style & voice spoke generations of young women who became listeners. She may be folk, but the influence she still has on rock & roll is very large.
Parliament - Funkadelic
10/10
The band's roots head back to doo wop, overtime George Clinton & company made their impact by becoming one of the pioneers in funk music adding psychedelic elements to it. They're also known for their spectacular live shows & outrageous costumes. The collective would influenced artists of multiple genres while also being figures in Hip Hop as rappers copied their sound & made it their own.
The (Young) Rascals
5/10
To be fair, I don't get why The Rascals even got nominated & subsequently inducted as they didn't changed anything in rock & roll nor did they have their work transcend generations. Not to say they sucked & have no talent, it's just they're not on the level of The Beatles based on that alone oh well.
One of the biggest classes & it took place in the Hall's hometown of Cleveland. It definitely takes the whole cake!
